Celia Cruz was born in Cuba eighty eight years ago today, and Google celebrated the anniversary of her birth with a Google Doodle seen the world over.
It's a reminder of what an international icon the "Queen of Salsa" was during her lifetime and her continuing relevance a decade after her passing in 2003.
Despite her accomplishments and legacy her music remains banned in Cuba by the dictatorship for the simple reason that she wanted a free Cuba.
